A few years ago I was a product manager. I wrote PRDs, ran roadmaps, and watched designers and developers turn my docs into actual products. At some point I got curious enough to try the design side myself. I never quite went back.
What stayed from the PM era is the habit of asking what something is supposed to do before deciding what it should look like. Which sounds obvious, and somehow still isn't.
