About the project

eGostitelj is a platform designed to help Slovenian accommodation providers efficiently collect, manage, and report guest information - simplifying compliance with local regulations. I worked on the UX and UI design to make the process of guest data collection seamless, minimizing hassle for hosts.

Goal

Slovenian accommodation providers face complex legal requirements for registering guest information and submitting reports to tourism authorities. Existing tools are often:

  • Tedious and manual to use
  • Not tailored to Slovenian regulations
  • Fragmented, forcing hosts to use multiple tools

The Goal: design an easy-to-use system that automates guest data collection, ensures compliance, and integrates with hosts’ existing workflows.

Process & Decisions

Understanding User Needs

Through interviews and research, we identified that hosts want:

  • A quick way to collect verified guest information digitally
  • Automated generation and submission of legally required reports
  • Integration with existing booking platforms (Airbnb, Booking.com) to avoid duplicate work

Designing for Efficiency and Compliance

We created a dashboard where hosts can:

  • Send digital guest registration forms directly to guests
  • Automatically verify submitted data
  • Generate reports and tourist tax calculations with minimal manual input

Automation was key — the system does the heavy lifting behind the scenes, so hosts spend less time on paperwork and more on their guests.

Seamless Integrations

To fit smoothly into existing workflows, we included the import of guest data to reduce manual entry.

Outcome
eGostitelj helps hosts save time and avoid fines by automating guest data management and regulatory reporting.
Reflection
The challenge was to keep the interface simple and approachable while meeting strict data collection standards. I prioritized user-friendly flows, clear feedback, and smart defaults to reduce friction.
